Guiding Principles
- Families deserve their choice of high quality schools. This includes academically strong neighborhood schools, charter, innovation, and magnet schools.
- Public education must give all kids a chance to succeed and thrive.
- Communities must be included in a true and engaging way in deciding the types of new schools that will open in their neighborhoods.
- Schools should have the freedom to create a culture that supports academic achievement and the character and emotional development of their students.
- On the School Board, I will be active in communities across the city and will work to understand needs everywhere.
